Looks like this year is going to be another huge one for Bimota.
Just picked this up from another site, translated from Italian and the bimota factory forum.

Many customers ask for Bimota to propose a model based on a 4-cylinder engine and so the company decided to expand the range of models equipped with the twin-cylinder Ducati, unique in the world for performance, small size and versatility, with a new model; hence the important collaboration with BMW Motorrad. In EICMA will be offered a first prototype that will give the idea of future production, destined to be talked about for style and power. ...I had a couple of 4 cyl BMW's back in the day. Big cumbersome tourers they were but very capable when you wanted them to pick their feet up
...With modern technology and Bimota flair, they could very well be a winner....depending on price
...Just as long as they don't try and make them 4 cyl 2 smoke _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Obviously Bimota agreed with Oily and I and selected a crafted in line 4 with German engineering and electronics package which will project the Bimota brand beyond the ducatisti blindfolds. Can I get the coat next? _________________ Pomps

The link doesn't work properly, you have to copy and paste it to get the English translation.
Then scrole down the left side navi to November 2012
Then click on 2013 bimota model (4th item)
below the DB11 and DB12- carbon Tesi frame and swingarms ! for a 4 cylinder maybe?
that's more like it. _________________ Bimota DB2 tricolore, Bimota YB4e.i, Ducati 851 tricolore, Ducati Hailwood Replica, 1968 Gitan Grillo sport, Yamaha GTS1000, Honda Deauville, Honda GB500 Clubman

I was loathing the styling on the new DB9/10/11/12 and the BB2 - just when I have lost all hope and think that Bimota has lost the plot (again), this new HCS frame shows up and all is well again!!
How come absolutely none of the other sites have shown this?!
The new styling direction still stinks though. Anyone know who is the designer behind the new bikes? |
