Cheers BimotaNige, it was all a pleasure, be sure to upload your images also when you get a chance, or email them through, as I evidently have all the free time and will gladly do it for you and the appreciation of all others.....
Oh, and did you end up with our "Best Club Stand - Rnners up" award? the demobbing was so hurried and frantic I think I was lucky enough to merely escape with my own bikes, and we all seemed to have played swapsie with various parts, stands, T-shirts etc (I have 3 I didnt buy)
Just about recovering and looking forward to the Easter break, just coming down from the High...
It truly was great, if more frenetic and hard work than I had anticipated, and with lots of unsuspected bonuses. Quite a few enquiries for Bimotas to be purchased/chased, contacts of people that have Bimotas that no longer "need" them, more info to be passed on later, and even myself, a potential new ride also that came out of the Blue. As those that know me know, I am particular with my beauties, and only am ever interested in the best of the best (at least in my opinion and thats what counts). I always look after my beauties, nuture and cherish each and every one, throw adornments at them when needed, although this potential new baby needs none of that from initial inspection...Further inspections due this weekend, although will have son with me so no stripping of outer bodywork to check the workings and inner glory that is potentially beholden, son wouldnt be interested...This ones defo a keeper though, and I never thought I'd come across such an example, wasnt even on my "wish list".
Sorry to report to the devoted "Bimotisi" that its not a Bimota, but has links to another Italian Bike manufacturer,,,but no, again not Ducati..... and Before You Ask GeeKay/Vort, this ones not a "loner" and isnt for sharing....Nope noway,,,Hhhmmm my precious......

couldnt have gotten thrown out this year, we were right next to the band and were shouting just to be able to talk to each other. Didnt even hear the Tannoy announcement saying go collect your award
We''ll be back, as just about recovered now, maybe try for twice as big next year?
Been trawling the net for any reviews elsewhere, piccies...Early days and whilst no review here, the bottom click slide show has some Bims
http://www.thepetrolstop.com/2013/03/the-manchester-bike-show.html
This fellow kindly took some free photos of the bikes there, and you can pay him to buy a digital download of each picture for just 6GBP each????, or just pm the boys and you can have them emailed for free...cheeky dog eh? S'pose a mans gotta make a living....
http://www.davebphotography.co.uk/p384255734
And no Bims on this one, but some nice piccies of other bikes, and I love the post it note photo "please do not touch or sit on this bike unless naked" perhaps I would add the word "female" in there though, just to be on the safe side
http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=5467205
And a few of the Bims here also:- nightie night zzzz

Oh you will Brian, no worries, but perhaps I'll revert to pm for the latest news....I do feel that I'm overstretching myself with the latest, but more than ready to rise to the challenge...
Honda Goldwing Owners Club won top prize with the RD LC owners club picking up third.....who were none to pleased considering the effort they put in in comparison to ourselves...made worse by the fact that they were asked to give the award to us seeing as none of us on the stand heard the announcement or even knew there were awards up for offer...tee hee....We didnt know, we didnt care, just wanted to show people the bikes. Both of the other winning stands, like most clubs down there, had chained off their displays with the usual "impenetrable" plastic post and chain to deter touching or close up contact....We had none of that, just "come on board and enjoy the ride" Afterall we arent really "owners" of our bikes, just fortunate temporary "guardians" until one day comes that we arent here or cant ride, and they'll be passed on. Several folk leaving cards and numbers for when that day comes.... And then when others left details also, we had to tell them if they were either 2nd, or 3rd in line already....Such was the interest they still left their details... |

two people who, prior to the show, had no practical knowledge of the word, working..................
more arrivals - Andy (Laminator on here) and his crew of very professional and dedicated bike movers and polishers.............

Hi
Looks good.
Unfortunately I couldn't make it. We had already organised to take one of my better halfs nephews diving with sharks for his birthday on the saturday. Ironically landed up taking him to the lego world at the Trafford Centre afterwards.
Thank you for all the effort you put in for the show.
All the best

Oh Keith, pieces of plastic at LEgoland, or pieces of Italian Porn next door at the Show.....You must have collected enough Brownie points until your dying day to have resisted the temptation to "pop out" for a few minutes, and we had spare tickets also..............
Hopefully next year they'll give us the all clear a little earlier for the show and more can plan ahead.......
How were the Sharks though? Was that the Sea Life centre in ScouseLand? Whats the age restriction? Think my son would be bang up for that one, always pushing his envelope, aged 10, but too short for Bimotas...yet.... |
