fuel lines pass under the airbox... and i think it's not a lean problem, as it would suffer more at high rpm or at wide throttle opening.
It sputters more at delicate opening at 3000-3500 rpm

will look at the spark plugs and see...
maybe a filter foam change would do the work

all this said... what a joy

Very Happy .

Oily, you're right... when you park the bike and walking towards the Bar you turn back two or three times to look at her... it's a great bike

lowered the needles of a pitch...
better but still not perfect. I mean that this truck 1100 should accelerate from 3000rpm without hesitation... but if I gently open the throttle from 3000-3500 I feel it a little rough 'till 4000 ... then is plenty...

I will see again in the hairpins if it still "pull back" in the exit....

the spark plugs were not so dark, but with unleaded fuel they are more difficult to "read"

carb sync done with the Carbtune vacuum tool

Hmm interesting, what is the carb setting now?
Main jet, Pilot jet, Needles, new or old parts, everything you know.

I want to compare some different settings (different sb6’s) and maybe we can find a base setting to start from.

I bought new main jets from Wemoto:
the inner ones are 137.5
the outer are 135

pilot jets 40
pilot screw: 2 turns out
float height set as manual (14,7mm if I remember)
needle set at second pitch from top (first setting was on third from top)

Next step would be to change the filter foam. It's a normal filter foam and maybe mine it's too dense.... please tell me it's possible to change the filter without removing the air box!!!!

lowering the needles I've noticed that a diaphragm has some bent( no cuts, only bents) ... I've ordered a new one at motorradbay.de
That spark plug was the darkest one....

Mine size of main jet is 122 all 4 of them.
Pilot jet 40
Pilot screw 1-5/8 turns out
What’s your carb ID number Question (it’s on the left side of the carb)
Mine is 46E0.

I think maybe it’s possible to remove the airlifter without removing the air box.
I never tried it but when you remove the carbs from the engine and leave the air box attach to the carbs.
Topple it so that you have enough space to remove the lower part of the air box.
Just try.

You need to remove the airbox and it isn't a standard airfilter, you'll have to make one up from a flat panel. Don't worry though you can practice refitting it Smile

after a longer test ride:
very better carburation... smooth and plenty

Vince if I remember your jets were dynojet, so maybe they are with a different scale of sizes

a very small leak from the thermostat housing... I think I'll leave as it is.

Next step is to repair with fiberglass a small crack in the lower fairing near the sidestand... and the very next the sidestand extension as read in the sb forum

cheers Very Happy

very nice going to work chosing the longest road Laughing

Mako, as far as I know the main jets aren’t dynojet
