Hi guys. With having to much time on my hands i decided to fit some keihin rs39's. The frame is notched ready for welding then on to fabricating a bracket to hold the fuel tank up! Pictures to follow.
Ps dont try this at home, somebody take my tools off me please!!
One way to sort the small airbox problem, if a little extreme.

I thought Keihins made "fcr39's" and Mikuni made RS38's
Or is this a new hybrid carb Laughing

Mikuni made flatslide carbs which I think are the RS38s .... they also made smoothbores

presume the sb6 has the rs40's as std same as the 6R so whats the benefit of the 39's??

Standards are 40mm CV carbs, RS39's are flatslide design, they don't use diaphrams and the throttle cable controls the slide directly whereas on the CV's the cable controls the butterfly valves

Also because the slide is flat its a shorter tract for the air, which means higher velocity and a bit more top end grunt.

so how come the std 6 didn't have the flatslides??

Flatslides aren't standard on any 6's. Bimota didn't do much to the motors so they use the same carbs as the GSXR1100W, 40mm CV's. Really the carbs are a bit big, not for the engine but for the airbox

My bad! They are fcr39's, i was in a rush and had a brain fart me thinks!
