|

I have decided to share a personal video with my bretheren around the world.
Recently (3 months ago), my daughter Lilly took up MMA (Boxing and Ju-Jitzu) She had an opportunity to enter a boxing match and jumped at the chance.
We were told that her opponent, who was 8 lbs. lighter would agree to fight my Lilly. We were told that the girl had been boxing for 11 months and we agreed to let Lilly fight, despite her serious lack of experience.
My daughter was actually trounced by a superior fighter who, we learned later, had three years of boxing experience. Lilly held her own and was actually the aggressor in the fight. She was out-boxed, but Lilly stood toe to toe with this superior fighter and never quit or shied away.
Lilly had her nose bloodied at the end of the second round and per the rules, the fight was stopped. You actually see me at the end getting up to stop the fight myself, but they already did it. You can hear my son telling to sit my ass down Hahahaha...LOL
We are very proud of our daughters spunk and courage and she continues to train and looks forward to the rematch. She promises she will trounce that no good liar, that misrepresented her experience to get the fight on the bill.
Anyway, enjoy ...... Lilly is in the Red corner, the first to be announced.
I would also like to add, Lilly is one of the most feminine young ladies you could ever meet. She and my wife were doing a spa facials and such the very next day. I would also like to add, my Lilly attends college despite being only 15 years old. She is an impressive young lady and plans to be a veterinarian.
I now joke that I no longer have to "clean my shotgun" in front of the prom dates, she'll handle it!!!
Here is the link to the fight:

Blimey. Good girl. I have twin girls aged 7. They are my world and I hope to have the the courage you have to allow them to have a go as Lilly has. I was also an amateur boxer at light heavy for a few years in the Marines. It takes a lot of guts to just step between the ropes, let alone to throw punches when you know it means you are being countered by more experience. !0 /10 to you both. I would also be very proud and post her video.
Now, tell her coach to work on her upper body lateral movement and head to start slipping jabs and crosses. Tell her not to go forward unless going for the kill. looks like she may fair better at counter boxing with hooks and uppercuts to get around the bigger gloves. Footwork is good but plant the feet and drop slightly throwing the punch with the hip first so all the force go's forward and doesn't push her back. A re match would be a great idea once a few more bouts are under her belt if she really wants to continue. Boxing is tough and far more damaging long term then MMA but with the will and heart you can make amazing gains in a very short time. She has tonnes of both. Congrats. _________________ Pomps

WOW! Thanks guys.
Yes, she has a lot to learn and bobbing and weaving is one of them. It was really hard to watch her getting punched without the technique to evade. She had never seen anything like that in her sparring with mostly smaller kids. You can actually see her say (body language) "Fuck This!" and just went for the kill, non stop, until it ended. _________________ '98 Bimota SB6R #000016 "Sweet 16"
