You can do all your bikes now..
My opinion…
For a normal fork tube the second from the left..
For a TiNi, the outer right. _________________ vince

Oily
Were you happy with your coated fork stanchions? Mine have popped their seals and I might add a bit of bling when I rebuild them. Could you put me in touch with your contact? _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

I will most likely be in need of a fork rebuild soon. (slightly weeping)
I would be interested in the ability of mocking up, renting or buying the "special tool" and a supplier link to buy the new O-ring and dust seals.
Honestly, I would rather just send my forks to an expert (OILY?) and have them done for me, as I know that job just might be a tad over my "pay-grade" LOL.
Oily, do you offer your services for hire? _________________ '98 Bimota SB6R #000016 "Sweet 16"

Even if he does... i think postage from US might make it cost prohibitive for you. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

That is a good point, but finding someone stateside that knows a wisp about Paoli forks is like finding gold in a bucket of sea water....LOL.
I would first explore mocking up or buying/renting the special tool and obtaining a "kit" with the hydraulic and dust seals and doing it myself.
Buying, renting, or making that "special tool" would actually be more than shipping 15 lbs. to and from the UK.
I'm still kicking all of this around..... _________________ '98 Bimota SB6R #000016 "Sweet 16"

I guess it is the "special tool" that is the "wrench in the works" as they say.
Also, the seals kit alludes me.
I am sure I could do the repair, I can usually figure just about anything out. I just don't start, until I can see how I can finish. Also, I have never rebuild any fork before, but "I ain't skeeeerrred"...LOL
Some close ups on that tool and maybe some dimensions, then I can make one out of a deep socket and an extension.
and, a link to a supplier for the seals kit, that I think I see in one of the photographs, would be a big help.
It would make a wonderful winter project. I mean, in between shoveling snow here in Utah's "Rocky Mountains" _________________ '98 Bimota SB6R #000016 "Sweet 16"

A local Race Tech center should be able to take care of it. |
