I'm interested in changing the look of the back end of my SB8R by fitting shorter end cans, maybe carbon, maybe titanium. I don't want to cut up the original so would obviously need link pipes too. Has anyone got any pictures of any mods they may have done, or suggestions as to reliable pipe manufacturers/fabricators? I guess once the link pipes are made I could find any brand of slip on silencer that I like the look of. |

I can vouch for the Moto Corse systems...beautifully made...very light...extremely Soulful to the ear.....and then theres just a couple of catches.....require fueling mods to make the most of them...Ok..can sort that....2 more problems? Impossible to find...and when you do...horrendously expensive....over 2K in English money...
Heres Corse website...but only list current Bimota models....400,000 Yen for a Db5 system...= 2300GBP...plus taxes...plus VAT plus import duty + Shipping costs....

Better off taking original system to a UK company like Scorpion and getting them to make a one off....and then you can choose your end cans etc etc |

The Moto Corse exhausts are works of art but actually very fragile due to their extremely thin titanium.
They can and do get cracks from vibration over time ( and some bikes, like the SB8R / SB8RS have a lot of flex from the self supported seat / tail section .....in fact the stock OEM exhausts had cracking problems from this flex).
One other word of caution; titanium works well for exhaust systems but with extremes of heat the ti can become more brittle still. Dont ever wrap a ti exhaust with the heat tapes that is often used on exhaust headers and or mid pipes. The extra trapped heat from the tape will accelerate the deterioration of the ti tubing.
Dont ask me how I know these things
