I'm sure theres another thread on here about Lithium Ion batteries.....whereby if the battery is cold its recommended to "warm" the battery up before attempting to start....by switching on the ignition with lights on and leaving for a few minutes to warm the battery up before pressing the start button......Not quite so easy on the DB5/DB6 range as only the side light comes on if the engine is not running.....but try that anyhow......I still think mine will not start each time I use it...as it cranks so slow........but after 2 years now it has always started...just dont touch the throttle until after its started and engine is running

It rides very different from the SB6, I still have to get used to it. Mainly the behaviour of the two cylinder and the mechanical noises of the clutch and engine that are very hard to get used to. Shocked

But the sound of the open titanium cans …… WOOOOOW …… superb, sound of a WW2 bomber following my tail. Twisted Evil

Congrats vince and I hope you start to enjoy the bike..........Does it have a "slipper clutch" installed? In which case you cant slip and "gun it" away from the lights/junctions as it graunches and slips? But after that its fine....I see that you have non-standard mirrors on it...which look like they might actually work....

I went across both of those bridges last year on the way to Spa....GeeKay wanted to go over "A bridge too far" and we werent sure which one it was...so just went across each bridge we could find in Njiemejen....

I see that you are "missing" the Zard silencer metal stick on plates.....Do you want a set for the bike as I have a spare set...made of metal and self adhesive....?

Congratulations Vince... I hope you'll enjoy the bike. Maybe noises and low down torque are something that you are not used too, but I think you got yourself one of the greatest bike there is... so light and precise, but with touch of Ducati slow steering. That makes it rock stable and safe and hell fast in the real world. Surprise level of comfort too. On the track you'll be surprise with what you can do with 100HP since you need quite less lean angle for the same corner speed as the other bikes... You'll become worst enemy of 1098s alike... you can pass them from outside in the corner... But be prepared to receive their anger on straights Laughing

We stopped in Nijmegen, but I believe we went across bridges in Arnhem as well....just to try and get the right one....I could imagine folk trying to swim that river...its certainly wide.......

If you can see something in the corner of the mirrors...then they're doing better than the stock mirrors.........I'm with you on drivers in Germany...seem to have so much respect for bikers...mind you all of mainland Europe were better for this than anywhere in the UK.......

How to tell if its a slipper clutch? Should have been fitted as standard on the R but a lot of people dont get on with them at all...If you rev it too much on first gear getaways then it will graunch and hop and skip and maybe stall.....theres no chance for "slipping" the clutch on first gear pullaways from stationary.........But if you are down changing quickly for a coming bend or for stopping...the rear wheel drive should disengage so no chance of locking up.....Can you see any springs that are visible and stand proud of the clutch plate? If not its a slipper clutch...normal clutches have 1 or 2 of the rings of the spring exposed at all times.....

Zard exhaust plate stickers? Just pm me you address....work or home..and I'd be glad to post them onwards for you...they're just sitting in a drawer at home and would probably never be used so glad to help

I think the Zard badges must want to come your way Vince...the first Drawer I looked in they were shining at me asking to go on a Foreign Journey..... Laughing

They even still have the shrink wrap plastic on the front....for better adhesion it may be best to stick them on when the tail cans are warm...so another excuse to take the bike for a run...as if you needed one.......
