|

Hi all,
This is interesting and hot off the press so to speak.
Piero is working on a race engine for the bike.
Available roughly in October for the grand sum of around 7,000 euros if anyone fancies one!
Didn't say too much apart from has special cranks, con rods and does away with the posilube in favour of premix.
Don't have any more info beyond the above but thought would share.
Be interesting to hear if anyone takes him up...
Cheers,
Chris |

I'd be interested in the concept, how much is he charging for a normal engine though?
It's probably too expensive for my blood given the USD exchange rates, but if you look at it as giving you a backup engine (in the stock motor you pull out) it could make sense.
Really would want to see the power curve expand.
And frankly, I'm most interested in new gears, it's impossible to get this thing into the power band in mountain riding around 25-35mph. |

The latest version of the engine is being tested since 2012, all the mechanics were almost untouched since then the main development is being made in exhausts, carburetion and software, also tests have been made with several new direct injection systems and of course electronics, for the info that I have with this version it was already possible to reach 140cv on the test bench measured at the front sprocket.
There are also new gear ratios for ho wants to use the bike on track and for the road. _________________ www.motopassione.pt.vu

I think it is is the new cranks and con rods that is the main difference here Trev. not the premix. They are still testing and hasn't given power figures yet but will do soon apparently... |

Tis not only the engine he is working on but also 'Specials ' as he put it .
Piero has run out of certain parts to make ORIGINAL vdue's so is replacing and updating.
Wheels and forks are 2 of the big things he is missing so expect USD and lighter wheels I suppose.
On the engine front a current engine is €5k and think the last EF10's were about 130bhp anyway. I do know of an EF10 owner that claims to have dyno'd his bike and told me it was a calculated 130bhp at crank, that was in 2013. |

Why do people dyno their bikes, not publish the chart and then use some guesstimate of crank hp when they have an actual hp number at the rear wheel to quote? It's so baffling to me. |

He wound'nt give me any proof, just what he said, but yeah pointless trying to impress if you ain't got the physical data to back it up. |

At the moment there are available 2 versions of the engine one is the street version with 120cv at front sproket and the other the Racing version 140cv at front sproket.
All this values were obtained using carbs. _________________ www.motopassione.pt.vu
