OK....I've dug out the one page sheet that explains the electronic dash and buttons...so can flatbed scan and email it if youre interested....just pm me your email address if Vort doesnt have one........
Pushing the function button "MODE" cycles through in order:-
Mileometer (Total)
Mileometer (Trip 1)
Mileometer (Trip 2)
(for either of the 2 above to zero them when each is displayed....just press the mode button for 2 seconds or more)
Fluids level (nearly out of fuel)
again the above can be zeroed..
RPM Meter
Cooling Water Temperature, displayed as H2o
The Flash button on the left when pushed for more than 3 seconds may show 9.3 rPm...which is the engine speed when the top red triangle at the top of the dash will light up...warning you to change gear or back off...using the mode button, this can be decreased...or using the Gear button it can be increased...to save the set up press Flash button again for more then 3 seconds
The right button is GEAR for managing of timing of shifting gear without clutch....when pressed for 2 seconds it may show 2.0 GEr...as in 2nd gear and can be changed in the same way as the Max revs flash button....but I think this was more for when the bikes were fitted with a quickshift arrangement....which is not recommended.......hope this helps |

I was very surprised how much torque it has and how the front wheel comes up!!! I will need a lot of seat time to get used to it!!! I am very proud to be a Bimota owner

Would be nice to have a comparison between the vdue and the RG. Personally never ridden an RG and yours is a more modern chassis than most , so should be a direct comparison to vdue , wieght ,power etc.
What spec is your vdue, ( which pipes, airbox, lower fairing panel etc). Don't get to hung up on trying to pigeon hole exactly as bikes vary depending on what was available at the time of build.
As 2bims says, dash is quite basic really , lots of lights etc but not huge amounts of functionality.
Again to emphasize the water issue on the dash , keep it well clear as there are no seals in the dash and plenty of people have the odd digit out etc due to water ingress .
Other than that, few basic things and give it a good once over as plenty of vdues not really used and set up very well. |

Hi 2Bims
Thank You so much for sharing that with me. I was wondering how all that worked!!! as I don't have any paper work for it.
Regards Mark

Hi Mark...presumably you have one of these dashes on board?
Originally the Vdues were fitted with sort of normal dial clocks for tacho, speed etc......later carbed versions had the ones above
The clocks are your ECU also......dont get them too wet...as in direct hose attack as they'll steam up.....basically theres just the one button in the middle of the 3 that does anything.....it cycles between displaying Revs as a numeric number on the 6 digit display on the left, or water temp, or fluids level, or total odometer, or trip No.1 or Trip No. 2.....Then you have left indicator and right...on the left and right...Lights on, main bean, neutral and low oil warning....but I'm not certain whether low oil does anything.....certainly the 2 stroke bottle doesnt have any level meter or cables on it....so maybe oil pressure in the engine/gearbox.....but then theres only 0.9 litres of oil in a full gearbox...At the top there is a shift light that comes on at around 10,000 revs...and theres a low fuel warning light also....this will or should if working...come on when dipping under breaking at around 70 miles from a full tank....then head straight for a garage...as theres prescious little left at this stage and no reserve...
Is the speedometer stable on your bike up to 80/90mph? or is it erratic in reading correctly? easy fix if not....
There is paperwork for how to use the dash....but its an "extra" and not in the manuals for the bike...just some computer printed sheets.... |
