Thanks for the pics 2bims - I didn't realise it was a flat white (I presume that the whole thing is lacquered after or is it a satin finish ? Nice bike by the way !
Your old bike is alive once more CT - the mystery switch on the left hand switchgear switches off the cooling fans (not sure if this was on there when you had it). I've worked out which LED does what on the display but probably loads to work out or modify as I do like to tinker !

Bimota varied the white from model to model...probably depending on fashion of the era...Db1's etc were pearlescent white...reds are almost always flat bright red...and greens almost always metallic...the red would normally "bleach" into the white so white is normally done first then lacquered then rubbed back then red...or red first and white over etc etc...stickers and logos last and finally lacquered again...so doing a tri-color scheme isnt exactly the cheapest option involving a lot of lacquering, masking, rubbing back more colours more rubbing back and more lacquering...but any painter worth his salt will know this anyhow...evidently if doing a special one off like the Corse models...which were done as specials in Japan anyhow...you can really choose what you like...the pearlescent whites are really nice....when done properly the paint looks a foot thick....

Well at least it runs well although pretty loud(not an issue for me though) and I've done most of my little custom tweaks.Seat now recovered aswell(£35 these Bims are expensive -not ). Maybe an odd question - has anyone ever fitted or got hold of (or made ) carbon frame sliders for these bikes ?
I think I will go for the pearl paint as they do indeed look very nice when done correctly.

Managed to source a nice carbon sprocket cover and a cnc billet clutch cover as the plastic one was slightly deformed. Uses standard TL O ring

Hi Russ, you sure seem to be doing good job getting the bike up and running. On the frame slider front , never seen any for the SB8, issue is numbers with after market stuff. Not enough potential sales to make a mould worth while.

I like the carbon sprocket cover , is that from the States ?

Sprocket cover came from UK. zero - limits.co.uk £56, make sure you get TL1000R one and not the TLS one. I had to cut 6mm off to clear the carbon frame section of the Bimota though.
