Gentlemen, thank you so much for the wealth of information. Here's what I'm thinking - I will check the breather hoses once again because after I plugged them into the small plastic tube retainer (I will take the picture once I'm there again) the leaking stopped. The culprit originally was the left hose.
If indeed it is still leaking, I will try to tap on the carbs in hopes of dislodging any spec of dirt there. If that doesn't work, it will need to have a specialist to be looked at. I am also installing a fuel filter (or filters) at the same time.
Jonny, your configuration with the breather hoses ou dos very interesting. Please post a picture or two when you get a chance. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

Hi
On mine the breathers (one between carbs 1& 2, the other between 3 & 4) go forward into a small plastic canister, and then from there another pair of hoses run forward into the airbox intake area of the frame behind the head stock.
You can see here:-

Thanks for the pick. Did you have to drill the openings in the frame? I don't see a breather tube to the air box. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

Those are the under slide breathers. You should also have a pair like that George, but you're talking about the float bowl breathers. I'll try and get a picture of mine up when I get back to the UK. But this picture does illustrate my point that these breathers are vented to the chamber from which the carbs take their air, via the air filter. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

The float bowl breathers are the hoses that come off the two white nylon tee pieces which you can see sitting under the tee pieces for the under slide breathers in the picture. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

You are right. The one leaking on mine was a float bowl breather on the left side (in the picture).
I unplugged it from the black "breather" bolted to the side of the block (hard to see in the picture) to see if it still leaked, but it didn't. Problem solved, for now. My next step is to add fuel filters to avoid the problem in the future _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10
