No worries David...we all think wepaid too much for our Bimotas...but I'd rather have their bikes than paintings on the wall...or fancy shoes...or designer Gucci handbags....You guys get hit for high import duties also so prices are always dearer over there...You should find that the headstock will have a different number to the riveted on Vin plate....we had the question here before on bikes from the USA...In fact concerning a 001 numbered Bimota DB3 sold by the same seller as your SB6....he had a few bims...all 001 numbered |

But I just found out we have another Bimota coming down from Queensland to race. I don't know which model it is yet. That makes four Bimotas racing, which will be the most Bimotas ever raced at one time. Take that. |

2bims, having trouble uploading pictures. I get a message that the pic is too large when I try the upload feature. Any workaround you can suggest?
One of the pics shows the serial number for the bike stamped on the headstock, which is the same number as on the manufacturers plate attached to the frame. The complete number is ZES1SB613SRZES001 |

Heres the emailed pictures of DavidT's USA imported SB6...think he now nneds to go on a photographers course...teehee//although nice shots of his headstock...It does seem that Bimota specially stamped a different set of numbers, sequence etc...for bikes being shipped to USA...sticker and not riveted Vin plate....all in English etc etc..

I see you've got the rego approval already. What was that process like? |

The process was not difficult.
I had to get import approval before the bike shipped, a straightforward process that my shipping agent helped me with.
The biggest problem was getting the bike checked by an vehicle inspector that had registered their experience with Bimota SB6 models. I found one in Qld so had the bike delivered there from the US and then shipped to me in Sydney.
as part of the inspection process they replaced the tyres and brake pads to make sure the bike was roadworthy. Not a problem as the items were worn out when the bike was sold to me |

Good stuff. I haven't figured out the RAWS workshop or SEVS scheme bit once you get a bie imported. I'm glad you got it sorted. Of the places I've enquired, it seems that putting on a new set of tyres is always a part of the process. |

Your SB6 looks to be in really good Nic mate. Is it just the way that the light is, or is the top yolk machined a little differently (the finish on the top). _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

It looks like the routing marks might be slightly deeper. Mine (Mk 2) has them as well but it could be that they're a different batch _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

My MKII has the mill marks too, just looks a lot more pronounced in the photo above.. maybe just the angle that the light is hitting it _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
