My SB6R is finally back from PDQ proudly sporting it's new exhaust and Dymag wheels. It's been a long and painful process particularly for Larry at PDQ and i bet he wishes he'll never see it again. First off Brembo supplied mismatched discs which he never noticed as the wheels took so long to arrive. Then when fitting the rear wheel Dymag sent the wrong disc carrier so it wouldn't line up and they needed to remake it. All in all about 6 months of waiting!
Exhaust is superb. Half the weight of the original and twice the noise but not so offensive as to attract attention. Dyno session shows a marginal top end increase but they have massively improved the pick up and bottom end which is so important.
No chance to road test as of yet as i am not going to tax it until 1st May as off to Germany Monday for a week so it will have to wait.

Excellent mods! SB6R, the model that made me embrace Bimota. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

Special to me....
No, just an evolution of SB6. Carbon fibre seat, mudguard etc. Other minor detail changes. |

Guessing he meant your typing slip up with the double 66.........
Looks neat albeit I may just be a little biased, for me I would have altered the end can outlet shape but would be a boring world if we were all exactly the same |

Looks nice
I wouldn't have those mushroom things on the frame though. If you drop it off the side stand (a Bimota favourite) they will punch straight into the frame and the bolt that holds them is the rear mount for the engine bracket.
Just cover the hole with a grommet _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Chuckie's right, the mushrooms are a liability. With low speed offs the footpeg takes the pain, albeit the carrier then dings the swing arm - a cause for tears in itself, but not as many as you'd get with a torn engine mount/dented frame _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

Surprised about the Dymags. Had quite a few sets off them over the years and never had any issues.
Carbon belly pan also , very nice subtle mods. |

interesting comments about the crash bungs.Never thought of that and they were there when I bought the bike. I'll take them off.
Previous owner actually had side stand extended so it does sit as it should. I am very aware of the pain and heart ache of side stands though. My Moto Martin rolled off it's side stand within 1 month of finishing a restoration that took 2 years to complete.
Carbon frame protectors - please count me in if a new batch is being suggested. |
