So I finally decided to bight the bullet and do the oil change on the YB7. Undid all the main fairing and even took the windscreen out to give a bit more flex in the fairing. Realised that really needed to take the front wheel off to get the fairing out and access to the filter. Also saw that I could almost to the drain hole if I lifted the rear wheel with the bike stand. So decided that the filter could wait and just do the oil. Hoisted her up on the paddock stand. Took a look at the alignment and noticed that one of the lift lugs was splitting so started to lower the bike, next think bang and off she fell as the lug split and dropped the left side of the bike. It was a very low velocity fall sort of watching something in slow motion. Cue lots of swearing (I'd already dropped my new RZ500 horn earlier in the day and it stopped working so I was in a good mood at that time). Fortunately a YB7 is pretty light so I lifted her up to check for damage - NONE!!!!!!! OMG, OMFG etc. how lucky can you get! Not a scratch - I suspect because I had the fairing disconnected it moved out of the way so the bike just slowly landed on the footpeg and the handlebar. So all back together - put that one down to good fortune and I am buying a lottery ticket today! _________________ pkay
