Not so bad then - thought it was my usual ham-fistedness lol. I'll put a self tapper in the switch - see how that works - (nobady will be able to see ) |

A little bit of wrap on the bar will allow it to grip enough to not move around. |

screw a 4mm bolt into the hole in the bar, cut the head off, drill the plastic pin out of the switch unit and re-assemble.
Works for me every time. _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Yeah mine broke off too. I just use the old ‘drill it out and put a screw in’ trick _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

This sounds like a way better method than what I usually do... I usually put the screw / bolt in the switchgear housing. The bolt in the bar sounds smarter. Great idea _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

On another subject - I have a sb6 - but don't ride it much as the vibes at about 5k are bad - is this normal? I was wondering whether it comes from the type of engine mounts or the way the seat is bolted to the exhausts or something else?? Any thoughts - seems a shame not to ride the thing.
Many thanks. Bob. |

To be honest I haven’t really noticed the vibration. Everything is solid mounted as far as I know _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Theres a bit of vibes at 3-4k due to the camshafts coming in but other than that its quite smooth.
If yours is vibey then look at balancing the carbs / make sure the plugs are all ok … or get it dyno'd.
Is the chain too tight ? don't set it on the side stand or it will be overtight when you load the suspension. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Thanks for the help. I'll check it out at the weekend - although the carbs have been balanced / new racing plugs. I think its the exhaust and how it fits under the seat - the rubber mounts have disappeared - anyway will give it ago and let you know. Thanks again. Bob. |

Racing plugs ?
I don't think there are rubber mounts for the pipes, mine are bolted directly to the black "subframe" that mounts to the seat _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

My exhaust is solid mounted to the seat unit as well. I think everything is solid mounted on the 6 _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
