Autotune for PC V is an additional module where a sensor inside the header is measuring and adjusting the air/fuel mixture on the fly.
I don't know these units, but they look like Powercommander clones.
I will set up a XP computer (again) hopefully this week as a last try to get communication. |

Again no luck with XP, as soon as the communication should take place the Bimota software hung up.
I am not sure which com port that software is using, I tried 1 to 5, but anyway it should configure itself, because the official instruction did not tell anything.
The USB/RS232 cable is working, I checked it with terminal loopback.
Drives me mad........ |

Thanks for that, Hans. Since there is no-one who has recently been able to communicate with a Pegaso ECU using the Bimota software via XP then I’m inclined to consider, for the sanity of us all, that this route is a dead end.......
I’m still pursuing, albeit more slowly since it’s winter here (and my DB6 is in pieces for some fettling ready for spring), the leads with the two Dyno companies. I’ve had no luck, unsurprisingly, with sourcing a spare Pegaso ECU to date (in order to see what the chip is) so I’ve just asked Bimota directly (should have done this before, of course) & hopefully they’ll be able to answer - or maybe someone else on the Forum knows and is willing to share. If this takes too long, or is fruitless, then I’ll either try one of the PowerCommander clones that were listed a few messages ago (Thu Nov 26, 2020 6:23 pm) or look for a secondhand PC. Either way I’ll be guided by the Dyno companies.
If that all turns brown then there’s the Ignitech type route, but I’m nowhere near that yet!
Will let you know as info comes in. |

Del,
Thanx for that. I saw it too but, like you, chose not to buy.
The Bimota factory have just got back to me. They have no information available for the Pegaso ECU, although they did give me a contact in the Pegaso company itself so we'll see if that leads anywhere. Let's hope so! |

delirio1100,
You have pm. I could do with some help to get the Pegaso factory to answer some questions about the ECU. |

I had my ECU checked and they say it‘s OK.
I thought I could skip the connecting issue…. |

That's good news Hans, in a way . Did they say they could remap the ECU as well? |

No, they couldn't do that. It is still one of the biggist secrets why there is no
solution to this connecting issue and no one on the WWW is able to help. |

Yes, irritating on both counts. What are you thinking of doing next?
I still haven't completely given up on communicating with the ECU although am in the process of looking around for a PC III now to cover both bases.
Developing a new (or starting with a generic) ECU, along with a probable rewire, ain't my preferred course of action at this point . |

Not sure, I still think it’s something stupid. I‘ll put everything back together and see, maybe that check has done something (master reset?!) and it will behave like normal |
