Hi all,

Just wondering if there's many or any Aussies on this forum? I've never seen many if any Bimota's around here (Nth Qld) but hopefully there's a few Aussie Bimota owners that can help me with where to get parts etc.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Thanks and G'day Dan. I'll slip around for a beer one day... holy shit, you're on the other side if the country! Smile

I've tried a number of times to contact the Bimota Australia website but haven't had a reply and my emails just bounce back. Do you have any contacts in Australia for Bimota parts?

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Try the guys as http://www.fxpowersports.com.au/ there the new distributor and have been helpful the few times I've phoned up and spoken to them.

What bikes parts are you after?

Thanks for the lnk Dan, i'll give them a try. I need a rear brake pressure switch and a collet and spacer for the fairing bolts. It may be easier and cheaper for me to just have the colletand spacer machined up. I've tried all the bike shops locally for the pressure switch but they've never seen one?

You'll find that the rear brake switch is the same as on all Bimotas of the era, working off hydraulic pressure, from the black brembo master cylinder. You can find the switches at any Ducati dealer, mine (in the UK) has them always in stock as they regularly go faulty. Search on-line for either Ducati 900SS (pre-2000) or Ducati Monster, or even Aprillia etc, basically any Italian pre 2000 series with brembo rear, new stock still available.

Its also called a Banjo bolt switch, size is M10 x 1.0
On ebay such as below (brand new), soz but can't do links for Oz ebay as I'm in UK. BMW dealers also use same switch for rear caliper

Thanks very much 2bims. I went to all the local motorcycle dealers here and none of them had seen one before, except the harley dealer but they were imperial thread of course. There's no Ducati dealer here so that explains why i couldn't find one.

Cheers,
Brian

Is that no Ducati dealers where you are or the whole of Oz? If so then I may change my retirement plans. Try BMW dealers also, pretty sure the new stock that have brembos use the same unit.

No, just in my area. The closest Ducati dealer to me is about 400 klm's away. I'll be able to give them a call but. Thanks again

Holy f*ck mate! that's quite a collection you've got there. I'd like to come visit you in Tassie one day Smile . I don't know how you can stand being away form them but i guess you have to finance your 'addiction' somehow eh.

Your mate in Mackay must be on the ball, i've only had registered for a week and been into town twice.

Cheers,
Brian
