They bought the engines complete but the coolant pipe in question is part of the external cooling system which was designed and manufactured by Bimota |

As Oily stated - it's definitely a Bimota part.
For what it's worth the bike hasn't been running hot in the 6 months I've owned it, so any effect hasn't been noticeable. |

Well spotted quackers... we should keep a running score on everyone that checks. But shouldn't it have been done at the suzuki factory before Bimota bought the engines in? |
I'll be checking mine sometime in the not too far distant future. I'll be fitting my new coolant hoses and rebuilding the clutch. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

All good advice regarding getting your nut off... Also quite often clutch basket retaining nut, the rattle gun puts half a ton of energy in the right direction. The reason these parts are so often difficult to remove is because the rattle gun is used to re-install.
Torque wrench to engine manufacturers specification is the best way of ensuring straight forward future maintenance. |

I totally agree
This was one of the hardest I've ever attempted to undo but I think as well as being overtightened it also had copious amounts of a high quality thread lock thrown at it. Once the thread lock was softened with a blow torch, the nut all but fell off.
The new nut was torqued on to Suzuki spec's |
