Brians right. Take it to a specialist and get it plugged rather then diy. _________________ Pomps

Your questions been answered....green gloop is a get you home fix only
I'm more concerned about your bad luck than about a corsa |

The green gloop is slime - you fit it before the puncture (I think). If the puncture is in the tread of the tyre it can be plugged - ring round and find somebody who does it, don't simply expect a garage to do it.
What shape's the hugger in ??? _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Does anyone rate that green gloop stuff I am sorely tempted to just shove some of that in the tyre? |
I try to never use Slime, even to get back home. We often carry a plug kit with the rope-type plug and have used them in the past. My wife caught a nail in a regular Pirelli Diablo with 200 miles on it while on a weekend ride and we plugged it. She rode on the tire with no problems until it was bald with no tread left. Ideally, I prefer to pull the tire back off the rim and put a patch over the hole on the inside. I've never used them, but someone is making a combination patch with a plug section on it.
Personally, I do not like using plugs because you are required to use a rasp and make the hole bigger. I prefer to NOT do any additional damage to the tire in order to fix it. I find it sort of counterproductive. _________________ Look for my books...

Taking Oily's point, I got a new tyre. Found a dragon corsa wasn't a corsa III but should be ok - looks identical anyway.
Is fitted to the wheel and balanced, so back in business!
Responding EvilChicken, the hugger has got chewed up near its edge where the nail was hitting it. The nail was twisted into the tyre and the head has worn a neat 1" long 1mm wide slot into the hugger plus worn its front edge for about 1".
Hugger was as good as new before the nail did its evil deed so proficiently! |

now the tyre is off I would still see if it can be repaired properly. Be a shame to chuck it for the sake of a few quid? _________________ Pomps
