And should be a shed load cheaper than £185.....
2 things.....
Do you think c/f tube will be strong enough?
Subtle difference in the tops... some don't have a hole for the spring and ball but I'm sure the hole, if not needed, won't be detrimental.

The spring and ball is to lock the stand in the up position but you only need it if the sand is heavy, could be a "nice to have" though.

What we talking, max 200kg bike at 10 degree lean say, so how much weight is the stand actually supporting , 30kg ?????
Commercial C/F tube, prepeg quality, not motorcycle quality , think a few millimetre wall thickness will walk it.
Lets face it Typhoon wing skins are about 6mm thick on average, and if memory is correct, about 20mm at the mounts.
Self supporting seat frame I made for my 888 was about 4/5mm think , wet lay up, and that was holding 80kg. Thing was rock solid when bolted up |

It's acually there to stop it triggering the side stand cut out switch. Makes the bike backfire and buck like a bull.

Could you make one for a 2003 R1 - I know somebody who's looking for one.

my sb8r stand is ok- then ,bob (previous custodian of said gorgeousness)did make his own ,giving a lighter object,and more stability! no probs! so as i do like carbon ,im not too carbon sexual too get one, might be persuaded on a group deal tho,the more the cheaper.

I would like to help, but spare time is one thing I don't have unfortunately.
Been meaning to make moulds for my bikes for about 8yrs now, but other things come first. |
