Very nice indeed and an impressive bhp from an RG500....reading articles on Mark....hes attested to having made the largest bhp RG500 with his 2-stroke tricks.....


Vdue "hunting" at 6,000......could be the way that it is....they all differ in some way...all depends on whether the previous owner ran it in and whether he has turned back the oil pump setting on the RHS of the bike.....they are normally all set running too much oil....that evidently can foul and oil the plugs up...its not normally possible to turn and adjust the cable on the oil pump fully to the recommended setting as the threaded cable adjuster fouls the snail cam at full proper adjustment...so has the adjuster been cut back....or left at factory setting as they come??

Mine is turned back most of the way after running in....and at 6 thou is fine for cruising...in fact fine at 4-5-6 for cruising....its only lower donw that you need to back off the throttle...slow down...change down....accelerate again until theres another car...and repeat the process....doesnt like traffic for sure below 40mph..........A change of plugs could sort....Champion RN2C I use and only around 6gbp a pair delivered to your house...I change mine every 400 miles or so....Bottom one is easy access...top one is tank off....unbolt the oil tank res and flop it forward.....Remove battery...taking care not to put back with wrong terminals as apparently it blows the reg/rect......no need to remove the battery box as the manual says as theres a cut out on the battery box to allow access for sockets etc....

Recommended to change out the gearbox oil also if the previous owner didnt do so fresh from Pieros factory....Most come with some sluggy stinky putrid smelling gunk that seems to have been there since the beginning of time...its only 0.9 litres of fully snyth Shell 10W40 or somesuch so not a major cost....a worthwhile check as the sump plug has a magnetic protrusion on it to catch metal bits etc...so always nice to know whats going on in there

Vdue's hunt around 4500-5000 if anywhere.
Has the bike been used or stood ? Only ask because indicators / number plate hanger off ? They do have a tendency to block jets etc if stood , or could be throttle balance .

Just book in a track day and hold it on redline easy

Hey Trev. Know you have a few vdue's. Started up my new Trofeo the other day, few things I noticed, firstly the start flew around, much faster than on the EF10 , wiring loom seems completely different, well it would I suppose, but wondering if the crap ef10 starting is down to the loom, Secondly the Trofeo pipes sound great and seem to rev freely.
Do you have both ? are there any differences ?

Trofeo has different stuff
- better porting for racing cup
- crank bearings on the inside of crank seals
- harness , less wiring
- pipes standed , they work well

Never noticed the starting thing but

Put on a jump battery to see if starts faster
direct to the starter motor , that would tell you
if it is wiring or engine related ?

Report back later , I have other ideas about
the different engine set ups but try this first

Not ridden it yet , just need to change wheels and tyres, give it the once over and then take it somewhere for spin !!!!

Hi all


I've been very busy over the past few weeks getting a few things sorted on my RS/RG-500. I needed the suspension sorting out as it was a bit too soft on the rear and the front of the bike. The bike is at PDQ being done!!! I have now just ordered my log cabin workshop 5-Meters wide by 3.5-meters deep to store all my bikes I'm going to order a bike ramp but not sure which one to get at the minute any ideas would be a good help!!!!

Hi all


Been very busy building my log cabin workshop man cave!!! in my garden to house my bikes and do all the bit I want to do on them. It has taken some work, as I had to have a 6-inch concrete base built the stand it on. My god, that was some work!! Anyhow that is all done now and here are a few pictures of how it is coming along. On the first night after laying the concrete base I had a mystery intruder in my garden see if you can guess who it was LOL






You may have guessed who the culprit was lol
